Fen-Phen

Fen-Phen is a combination drug (fenfluramine and phentermine) manufactured by Wyeth (formerly known as American Home Products Corporation or AHP) for the treatment of obesity. The drug combination was nicknamed “Fen-Phen” and it is estimated that in the United States between 6 and 7 million people took the drug. A study published by the New England Journal of Medicine found that the use of Fen-Phen for three months or longer was associated with an increased risk of developing primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH).
An increasing number of serious health-related conditions have been reported to the FDA which include the following:

- Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)
- Shortness of Breath
- Chest Pain
- Weakness
- Fatigue/Fainting
- Death
