Car accidents: 3-vehicle Delaware crash injures 8 people

| May 15, 2019 | Car Accidents

Motor vehicles are a daily necessity for the vast majority of Delaware residents. However, due to the high volumes of traffic, car accidents are increasing on roadways across the state. Unfortunately, thousands of people in the United States lose their lives in traffic accidents every year. A recent crash in Milford resulted in serious injuries to three adults and five children.

The accident happened along Route 1 just before noon. According to reports, three total vehicles were involved in the crash. Reports indicated that two vehicles initially collided then a third vehicle crashed into the second vehicle.

Authorities said the driver of the second vehicle had exited, and the impact of the third vehicle caused the second vehicle crash into her. Reportedly, she was very seriously injured and was rushed to a hospital. Five children along with two other adults also suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment, reports said. Authorities declared the accident a level one mass accident and multiple ambulances responded. The southbound lanes of Route 1 remained closed for hours while the accident was cleared.

In the United States, there are more vehicles on the road today than at any point in history. Although motor vehicle safety has drastically improved, thousands of people are injured every year in crashes. Those in Delaware who have suffered injuries or loss due to negligence in car accidents may want to discuss the issues with a legal representative. A successfully litigated claim could result in a substantial monetary award to help families pay medical expenses and recover other documented losses.
