Surgical errors happen far more often than most realize

On Behalf of | Jan 30, 2019 | Surgical Errors

Due to amazing advancements in medical technology, there seems to be an increasing sentiment that surgical procedures are safer today than ever before. While it’s true that technology has made once complicated surgeries now routine, there are still high levels of risk involved with any surgery. Any time humans are involved, the potential for errors exists. Unfortunately, when surgical errors are made, the patient suffers the consequences. Fortunately, there is help available for Delaware patients who are injured due to negligence during a surgical procedure.

A man in another state recently filed a lawsuit after a procedure allegedly left him with injuries. According to the lawsuit, the man was scheduled to undergo a biopsy on his left temporal artery. Allegedly, the man received severe burns on his face during the procedure.

The man claims that negligence by his physician was to blame for his alleged injury. The procedure left him with drooping eyelids, vision problems and disfigurement, according to claims. He seeks to hold his physicians responsible over claims that they failed to exercise ordinary care and ability when treating him. He is suing for damages and all just relief.

Unfortunately, any mistake made during surgery will be magnified and can drastic negative implications for patients. Negligence during surgery occurs far more often that most people realize. Those in Delaware who have suffered injuries as the result of surgical errors could benefit by seeking the services of a knowledgeable attorney. A successfully litigated claim could result in substantial financial relief to help victims with medical expenses and other monetary losses.
