A recent lawsuit filed against a medical facility in another state alleges that errors during surgery resulted in the death of a man. Allegedly, the man underwent a complex surgical procedure at a facility that was not authorized or equipped to do so. According to the lawsuit, the man needed a cervical spine fusion operation. The lawsuit claimed that, although the man requested the procedure to be done at a hospital, providers at the facility convinced him to have the surgery there by telling him his insurance would not cover the surgery at a hospital.
It was alleged that, during the surgery, a medical assistant caused the man’s blood pressure reading to drop by pressing on a pressure cuff. Allegedly, the anesthesiologist then negligently administered a toxic agent. The lawsuit asserted that the man experienced complications and had to be rushed to a hospital, where he died.
