Accidents often happen when least expected. When drivers get behind the wheel, the last thing they expect is to be involved in a serious accident. However, statistics say that almost every driver will be involved in an accident at some point in his or her life. Car accidents have become almost inevitable on crowded Delaware roads. A recent three-vehicle crash near Dagsboro resulted in multiple injuries.
The accident occurred during the afternoon hours on Route 113. According to reports, the driver of a Hyundai was traveling south in the left lane when an unidentified car drifted into the same lane. The driver swerved to avoid contact, which caused the Hyundai to travel through the median and into oncoming traffic, reports said.
Police said the Hyundai struck a northbound Volkswagen and also a Honda that was traveling behind the Volkswagen. The driver of the Volkswagen was seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said. Reportedly, the driver and a passenger in the Hyundai were both transported to a hospital with injuries and later released. Police said Route 113 was closed for about three hours following the crash.
Statistically, traveling in a motor vehicle is the most dangerous daily activity in the lives of most Delaware citizens. Navigating overcrowded roadways across the state can be a daunting task. Those who have suffered injuries or loss due to negligence in car accidents could benefit from discussions with an experienced attorney. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in compensation to victims and families that can be used to replace lost wages and cover medical expenses.
