Despite the nearness of spring, the winter weather is still evident in Delaware and other parts of the country. Sadly, many tragic car accidents occur as a result of winter weather and icy road conditions. Recently, an icy road may have been a factor in a fatal collision between two vehicles.
Reportedly, a 33-year-old man was speeding in his sedan when he drove over an icy patch in the road. After hitting the icy patch, he apparently lost control of his vehicle and spun into the path of another sedan. After the vehicles collided, the first sedan flipped over onto the roof before coming to a stop.
Unfortunately, the speeding driver was not properly restrained, and he died at the scene of the accident before he could be transported to a medical facility. The driver and the passenger in the other vehicle were reportedly wearing restraints and appeared to not have been speeding, but they still suffered serious injuries. They were transported to a medical facility and are reportedly in critical condition.
