Fatal car accidents are increasing in Delaware

On Behalf of | Mar 10, 2020 | Car Accidents

It’s obvious that being on the road can be very risky. In Delaware these days, it seems just getting from point A to point B can be a literal chore. With so many vehicles sharing the road, crashes are inevitable. Unfortunately, the number of serious and fatal car accidents continues to rise year after year. A recent crash in Harrington resulted in the death of one man and serious injuries to two other people, including a child.

The accident happened during the evening on Route 14. Reports said the driver of an eastbound car was driving at a high rate of speed and failed to properly navigate a curb in the road. The driver lost control of his vehicle and spun into the westbound lanes of the roadway, police said.

Reportedly, the car spun into the path of an oncoming sedan. The ensuing collision knocked the car onto its roof and threw the driver out of the car, killing him. The driver of the sedan and a 7-year-old passenger were both seriously injured and transported to a hospital, according to reports. Police said the crash remains under investigation.

These days, just going for a short drive has the potential to turn into a fatal accident. Those who suffer injuries or loss in car accidents due to the negligence of another party may want to seek the services of a legal representative. A lawsuit, if successful, could provide monetary damages to help victims and families who may be struggling with financial losses.
