Fatal car accidents can happen at any time

Accidents are just a part of life. Although a lot of accidents can be prevented by taking the proper precautions, some accidents are unavoidable, especially on crowded Delaware roadways. To avoid serious car accidents, drivers should stay focused behind the wheel and be aware of their surroundings at all times. Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a recent crash that killed one person and injured another.

The accident happened in Stanton along Del. 7 during the morning hours. According to reports, a man driving a southbound sedan attempted to make a left turn. Reports said the man failed to see a northbound sedan and turned directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle.

Tragically, the driver of the southbound sedan was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene of the violent crash, authorities said. The driver of the northbound sedan was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police. Reportedly, the accident closed the highway for several hours. Investigations are ongoing.

It’s no secret that traffic crashes are happening more and more these days. Fortunately, most car accidents are just fender benders and nothing more than minor inconveniences. However, just going for a short drive can potentially lead to a very serious or fatal accident. Those in Delaware who have suffered injury or loss as the result of negligence in an accident could benefit by discussing the matter with an experienced legal representative. A successfully litigated claim could provide much-needed compensation to help families pay medical expenses and cope with the pain and suffering associated with a serious crash.
