Car accidents involving bicycles are on the rise in Delaware

According to reports, the driver of a northbound sedan attempted to change lanes to make a right turn and struck a cyclist who was headed the same direction. Reports said the cyclist collided with the right side of the sedan and was thrown from his bike.

Reportedly, the cyclist was riding in a lane designated for bicycles at the time of the accident. The cyclist was badly injured and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said. The driver of the sedan was not injured in the accident. Police say investigations are still ongoing.
