For Delaware drivers, car accidents are inevitable

On Behalf of | Aug 28, 2019 | Car Accidents

In life, nothing is guaranteed. The future cannot be predicted, and uncertainty is just something that is always there. Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time, especially on busy Delaware roadways. Drivers are faced with numerous dangers every time they get behind the wheel. Although traffic safety laws and infrastructure improvements help to reduce car accidents, no amount of preparation or precaution can totally prevent accidents from happening.

Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a recent accident that happened near Newark. The crash occurred on South Chapel Street during the late morning hours. According to reports, an SUV was traveling north on South Chapel approaching a sedan what was traveling south on South Chapel.

Reportedly, the sedan was turning left onto an adjacent street and turned into the path of the SUV, causing a collision. The driver of the SUV suffered injuries, and the driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, reports said. South Chapel Street remained closed for about an hour and a half while the scene was cleared and investigated, authorities said.

Without a doubt, staying focused and alert behind the wheel will help to reduce the likelihood of an accident. Unfortunately, accidents will happen regardless. In Delaware, when negligence in car accidents results in injuries or death, victims and families have the option to pursue legal action by speaking with an attorney. A successfully litigated lawsuit could provide victims and families with much-needed compensation to help them through this difficult and confusing time.
