Surgical errors: Lawsuit filed after negligent shoulder surgery

Incredible trust is placed in the hands of physicians and surgeons when a person needs a surgical procedure or any kind of medical treatment. In the state of Delaware, the vast majority of surgeons and doctors are incredibly skilled and highly-trained individuals who are more than capable of adequately caring for patients. These days, the world of health care is fast-paced and can definitely be hectic. Medical professionals are often overworked and in a rush to see more patients. Unfortunately, this can be a significant contributing factor regarding surgical errors.

A woman in another state filed a lawsuit after a surgery on her shoulder left her with pain and injuries. According to the lawsuit, the woman underwent a surgical procedure to repair a torn rotator cuff in her right shoulder. Allegedly, the woman experienced pain in her shoulder after the surgery so she went back to the defendant for an examination.

After post-operative X-rays, it was determined that a screw implanted in the surgery had become displaced and protruded into the joint, the lawsuit said. The woman claims she had to endure another surgery to remove the screw and repair damage. She alleges that she continues to experience pain and has trouble with range of motion. The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $75,000.

Luckily, there are helpful options available for those in Delaware who suffer injuries as a result of negligent care. Victims and families who have suffered due to surgical errors can take legal action by consulting an experienced attorney. A lawsuit, if successful, could result in a substantial monetary award to help victims and families through this traumatizing experience.
