Surgical errors can happen despite tecnological advancements

Medical technology has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years, making procedures that were once complicated seem almost routine. Newly implemented regulations have also helped to make surgical procedure safer than ever before. There are literally thousands of surgeries performed every single day in Delaware and across the country, and the vast majority of these procedures are successful. However, surgical errors still happen, and when they do they can be absolutely devastating to victims and families.

A woman in another state recently filed a lawsuit over claims that surgeons were negligent in her knee replacement procedure. The lawsuit says the woman underwent total knee replacement surgery in which a knee device would be implanted. The woman claims her doctors implanted a certain type of device that was known to have a flawed design.

According to the lawsuit, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had recently issued a recall of the device. Despite this, the woman claims her doctors went forward with the surgery, allegedly causing her to have complications. The woman seeks all just relief for her alleged pain and suffering.

These days, the majority of surgeries are technically safer than ever before. Nevertheless, mistakes made during surgical procedures account for thousands of deaths and injuries every year in the United States. Victims and families in Delaware who have suffered injuries or loss as the result of surgical errors could benefit by seeking the services of an experienced attorney. A successfully litigated claim could provide monetary relief for victims and families who are suffering due to this stressful and debilitating experience.
