With so many vehicles sharing Delaware roadways these days, it’s not a matter of if an accident will happen, but when. Statistically speaking, it is an almost certainty that most drivers will be involved in an accident at some point in their lives. Even if drivers are cautious behind wheel and practice safe driving habits, accidents may still happen. Tragically, car accidents are a leading cause of death and injury in the United States.
A recent deadly crash in Pike Creek killed one man and seriously injured another. The accident happened on Polly Drummond Hill Road during the nighttime hours. According to reports, a car traveling northbound crossed over the center line and into oncoming traffic. Reports said the car violently collided head-on with a Jeep.
The drivers of both vehicles were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the driver of the car later died from his injuries at the hospital, reports said. The driver of Jeep was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening. Police said the roadway remained closed for several hours following the crash.
No person wants to be involved in an accident. Unfortunately, most car accidents are unavoidable no matter how cautious drivers are behind the wheel. Victims and/or families in Delaware who have suffered injury or loss due to negligence in an accident can take action by seeking the services an experienced attorney. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in much-needed compensation to help with medical expenses and recover any monetary losses that may have occurred due to this devastating experience.
