Woman says surgical errors caused her pain and injuries

On Behalf of | Sep 12, 2018 | Surgical Errors

Every day in the United States, thousands of patients undergo surgical procedures. These patients place their lives in the hands of surgeons, physicians and nurses. Although most of these surgeries are minor and routine, one seemingly minor mistake in any medical procedure can lead to a lifetime of disabilities for the patient. Tragically, surgical errors continue to be a leading cause of injury in Delaware and across the country.

A woman in another state is taking legal action over claims that negligence during a surgery led to her suffering injuries. Reportedly, the woman suffered a hip fracture in an automobile accident and required surgery. According to the lawsuit, the woman underwent the surgical procedure one day after her accident and was discharged a few days later.

However, the lawsuit claims that only 10 days after her surgery, the woman’s hip became significantly dislocated. Because of this, the woman allegedly suffered pain and permanent physical injury, as well as loss of enjoyment of life. The woman claims that her doctor failed to properly secure her hip fracture and negligence during surgery was to blame for her alleged complications. The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages and all just relief.

Although the vast majority of doctors and surgeons in Delaware and across the nation are very skilled and highly-trained professionals, errors will occur any time humans are involved. Those who have suffered injuries due to surgical errors can take action and file a lawsuit. A successfully litigated claim could result in vital compensation to help victims and families recover any monetary losses that occurred as a result of this experience.
