On Behalf of | Mar 29, 2017 | Car Accidents

A simple mistake or minor distraction is all it takes to lose control while operating a vehicle. Sadly, for many Delaware residents some mistakes may result in car accidents, death and injuries. Medical and burial expenses related to accidents are also very expensive. In one recent fatal vehicle collision, one man lost his life and two woman suffered several injuries.

A 75-year-old man attempted to drive through an intersection after reportedly adhering to the intersection’s stop sign. His wife was in the car as his only passenger. Another driver, a 45-year-old female collided with the older driver in the intersection. Incident reports state that the woman struck the older man’s driver’s side front door, sending the vehicle in a tail spin.

Both drivers and the man’s wife suffered injuries, but the man’s injuries were so severe he died almost two weeks later. He was apparently stable soon after the accident, but was transferred to a second facility for unknown reasons before he died. Reports state that the women’s injuries were not life-threatening and is in stable condition. The accident investigation is still pending, but initial evidence did not suggest any alcohol or drug involvement.

Initial reports do not present clear indication of which driver may have been fault, but investigators are surely focused on determining exactly what occurred. Whether a person experiences property damage, injuries and/or death, dealing with the aftermath of car accidents can be expensive. Victims, including the surviving families of deceased victims, can seek the advice of Delaware personal injury attorneys for assistance in filing claims with car insurance and/or to determine the necessity for litigation against the party or parties deemed negligent.
