As a partner in Young Conaway's Personal Injury section, Neilli Mullen Walsh predominantly represents persons injured as a result of medical negligence, automobile accidents and other torts.

Neilli has tried numerous cases involving complex medical issues before the Superior Court of the State of Delaware and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. She has achieved several multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, including:

• a $3.6M jury verdict against a neurosurgeon for a patient who suffered partial paralysis following neck surgery;

• a $1.8M jury verdict for a young man who died as a result of the malfunctioning of a surgical stapler;

• a $5.2M settlement of a wrongful death case arising from the death of a 38 year old husband and father following an automobile accident involving a commercial crane truck;

• a $2.8M settlement award against a hospital and a cardiac surgeon for a brain injury suffered by a teenage girl during the course of a cardiac procedure which utilized circulatory arrest;

• a $1.5M settlement award for a hospital's and pediatrician's failure to diagnose and treat hypoglycemia; and

• a $1.4M settlement award for the surviving family members of a physician who bled to death following childbirth.

As a result of her achievements in the courtroom, Neilli is often consulted by attorneys within the firm on their high-profile, complex tort litigation matters. She recently was asked to serve as co-counsel in a matter involving the Diocese of Wilmington. Neilli's litigation experience was a valuable asset during the discovery and trial preparation phase as the team organized hundreds of documents, interviewed and prepared expert witnesses, and took numerous depositions.

Her accomplishments in medical negligence and personal injury litigation have also been recognized by legal colleagues and peers outside of the firm through multiple nominations to publications such as The Best Lawyers in America® and Delaware Super Lawyers®. Neilli remains actively involved in a number of professional organizations including the American Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association.
